Amy Rolfes is a writer, blogger and retired teacher based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. In 2014, she moved to South Africa, to work with orphaned, abandoned and vulnerable children at an American founded and funded orphanage. Her stay of nearly two years presented her with many lovely moments of human connection and also many unforeseen challenges and eye-opening realities. Join her as she revisits her personal journal entries and recounts her experiences and lessons learned through her journalistic and candid writing style.
Think deeply, question intelligently and challenge respectfully as she shares her present day wisdom gained only through hindsight. The manner in which we are 'helping' in Africa needs discussion and this is one place we can begin.
