Amy Rolfes is the Republican nominee for St. Joseph County Circuit Court Clerk.
Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Amy graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor and Master of Arts degree in Education.
Amy has been a small business owner of Amy and Company, a specialty foods company specializing in English Crème Scones, ‘Amy’s Chunky Chutney’ and catering. Her business experience led to her work at the Center for Economic Empowerment and Development, as an Education and Certification Specialist for small business entrepreneurs. In her role, she provided training to a diverse population through a rigorous statewide business certification process.
Amy served as Executive Director of one of the first employer-sponsored childcare centers in the state of Michigan. During her tenure, she navigated through a first ever State licensure of an infant care center, working with local and state government regulators. The licensing process was detailed, lengthy and successful.
For almost a decade, Amy served as the Executive Director of the Family Learning Institute, an educational nonprofit. This involved managing over 200 students and volunteers each week and working closely with parents, teachers, and administrators. Responsibilities also included data management, grant writing and reporting, and establishing formal partnerships with corporations, foundations, and government entities.
Then, a once in a lifetime opportunity arose for Amy to move to South Africa to become Executive Director at an orphanage. She served as the Director of Children’s Education and Programs working directly with South African government entities, law enforcement, teachers, administrators, social workers, and 50 South African staff members.
After living and working in South Africa, Amy is pleased to live in South Bend, Indiana, a friendly, midwestern college town where opportunity abounds. Following her lifelong career of service to her community, Amy will be honored to serve the citizens of St. Joseph County, as their County Clerk.
Amy is a mother and grandmother, and her 5 grown children and grandchildren live literally, from coast to coast – California to Connecticut.
